Even with the Horns falling short against Maryland, Baylor’s loss to Liberty was still the most disappointing performance from any Big 12 team in Week 1. Common sense would tell you that Baylor is on upset alert again since they’re facing an FBS team.

UTSA lost their Week 1 matchup. The Roadrunners faced the New Mexico Lobos and fell short by three points. However, that’s not near as bad of a loss as Liberty.

Even more bad news for Baylor is that one of their biggest offensive weapons, running back Jamychal Hasty, likely misses this game. He’ll likely miss four weeks of action total. That’s a huge loss for Baylor considering the lack of offensive talent on the roster anyway.

In order to stay in the hunt for not only bowl eligibility, but any hope at winning any sort of a significant amount of Big 12 games, they need to get some momentum going now. Defeating FBS competition is a good start.
