Louisville Football: 5 reasons the Cardinals will beat North Carolina
The 16th-ranked Louisville football team may be on upset alert in Chapel Hill this week, but here are five reasons why it should be just fine.
The North Carolina Tar Heels are licking their wounds after last week’s 35-30 loss to the California Golden Bears.
However, there’s not much time to dwell on their first loss of the season as they welcome quarterback Lamar Jackson (Pocket Lamar) and the Louisville Cardinals to town.
The Tar Heels didn’t look good on offense in Week One as they shuffled in quarterbacks Brandon Harris and Chazz Surratt. Eventually, Harris was benched in favor of Surratt, but the Tar Heels still ended up losing the game, at home.
North Carolina didn’t look any better on defense, either. They gave up 363 passing yards and four passing touchdowns despite a lot of hype surrounding the potential in their secondary.
The Louisville Cardinals, on the other hand, showed a lot of poise in their 35-28 victory over the Purdue Boilermakers. Despite trailing on multiple occasions, the Cardinals kept their composure with Jackson under center. He led two final scoring drives in the fourth quarter to put the game away for good for Louisville.
Things don’t get any easier this week for the Tar Heels with the Louisville Cardinals in town this week. The teams haven’t met since 2012, when Louisville won 39-34.
