Oklahoma State Football: 3 bold predictions vs. South Alabama
Oklahoma State football hits the road for the first time this season to take on the South Alabama. Here are three bold predictions.
The Oklahoma State Cowboys actually slid in the AP Poll rankings this week. With Alabama’s defeat of the Florida State Seminoles and the Michigan Wolverines’ victory over the Florida Gators, Oklahoma State slid from No. 10 to No. 11.
Last week, Oklahoma State took down the Tulsa Golden Hurricane in a dominant effort. Tulsa was never really in the game as they ended up losing by a score of 59-24. This week, they have a chance to win by even more.
The South Alabama Jaguars faced the Ole Miss Rebels in Week 1. It’ll be the second straight game that South Alabama takes on a Power Five conference team. That’s not an easy task for any Group of Five team, even one that made a bowl game last year.
Head coach Mike Gundy does not have the best track record in non-conference road games. South Alabama is not an easy team to beat, by any means. However, this is much easier than Oklahoma State’s last non-conference game in 2017, which comes against the Pittsburgh Panthers.
Shutting down the Cowboy receiving corps is going to be no easy task for the Jaguar defense. Led by senior wide receiver James Washington, the Pokes have the best receiving corps in the country. Watch out for LSU transfer receiver Tyron Johnson to have a big game. He caught his first touchdown pass with Oklahoma State last week.
We get to see Oklahoma State and South Alabama play on national television on ESPN since the two square off on a Friday night.
Now, let’s take a look at three bold predictions for Oklahoma State vs. South Alabama.
