Arkansas football faces their first real test of the season on Saturday when they host TCU. Here are five bold predictions for this Big 12 vs. SEC showdown.

With the dawn of the College Football Playoff three years ago there has been an uptick in the number of intriguing non-conference matchups. On the surface, this game between Arkansas and TCU doesn’t seem to have much more than a geographical tie. The two squads are former Southwestern Conference foes that would meet every year back in the day. Now they’ve diverged, both in schedule and in play still.

Traditionally, Arkansas like to play defense run the ball, run the ball, and run the ball some more. TCU is more than willing to rack up an unreasonable amount of passing yards and win the game 85-75.

TCU enters the game 1-0 with a win over Jackson State. Arkansas, also 1-0, defeated Florida A&M with the help of a rather bizarre set of penalties called in the Hogs’ favor. Okay, so maybe the penalties didn’t have too much of an impact on who won the game. It was still weird enough that it was worth mentioning.

When these two squads meet on Saturday it will be another showdown of two extremely different playing styles. Which team has the edge and why? Here are five bold predictions for the Arkansas’ Saturday showdown with TCU.
