Nebraska football has their first real test of the season on Saturday when they travel to Oregon to play the Ducks. Here are three bold predictions for the game.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers will travel to Eugene, Oregon to take on the Oregon Ducks. This will be a nice Big Ten vs Pac -2 battle. With new head coach Willie Taggart in the fold the Ducks have renewed expectations. Taggart did a great job at South Florida for four years.
If Nebraska wants to pull off the upset they need to play out of their minds.Oregon is a program on the rise and Nebraska seems stuck in the doldrums. So let’s get into it. Here are three bold predictions for Saturday’s Power Five collision.
1. Oregon will win by at least three touchdowns
I know it was week 1, but let’s face it Nebraska didn’t look great against Arkansas State. Arkansas State even out-gained Nebraska 497-463 at home. Nebraska has been a fringe team in the Big Ten the last few years. Because of their rich history, most in the media give them the benefit of doubt. However, at the end of the day they have been disappointing for the most part.
Oregon has a very balanced attack led by Justin Herbert (quarterback) and Royce Freeman (running back). In their first game they amassed 703 total yards, scored 71 points. And just think, Herbert and Freeman didn’t play the whole game. Nebraska couldn’t contain Arkansas State, what do you think will happen against Oregon?
Yep, book at least a 21 point victory and I haven’t even checked the spread. SBR lists it at 14 points. It will be far more than that.
