Ole Miss Football vs UT-Martin: 3 Bold Predictions
Ole Miss football will look to improve to 2-0 against UT-Martin on Saturday. Here’s why the Rebels will win and what the game will look like.
After getting out to a slow start, Ole Miss football picked up the pace in the second half of last week’s 47-27 victory over the South Alabama Jaguars. The Rebels outscored the Jags 34 to 17 in the final half, securing what proved to be a hard-fought home victory.
The UT-Martin Skyhawks opened their season with a 36-0 shutout victory over Clarion. What’s that? You’ve never heard of Clarion? That’s because it’s a D-II school that might be a few levels shy of the competition the Skyhawks will face this weekend against Ole Miss.
On paper this is a blow out. Ole Miss has a 97 percent chance of winning the game according to ESPN FPI. The game is in Oxford and it’s going to be plenty loud.
Stacking up the victories does little for Ole Miss this year, but at this point in the year they’ve got to do everything they can to prepare for the gauntlet of the SEC West. The Rebels are going to get their chance to hang with the big names and hope to play spoiler once or twice. If they’re going to do that they’ll need some tune up games against lesser competition like this.
An Ole Miss victory is expected, but here are three bold predictions for what that win will look like on Saturday against UT-Martin.
