Texas A&M football needs to get the bad taste out of their mouths from Week 1. Here are five bold predictions for their rebound game against Nicholls State.

The Aggies were riding high after jumping out to a 44-10 road lead against the UCLA Bruins at the Rose Bowl in Week 1. As has been covered copiously already, Texas A&M would go on to find a way to squander that 34 point lead. Now, instead of beginning the early season optimism that Aggie fans are all too familiar with, Kevin Sumlin and the Aggie program find themselves at a crossroads.

There’s not better time to get back up than the present. Nicholls State isn’t exactly a heavyweight and the Aggies won’t (*Read that shouldn’t*) have any problem dispatching the 1-0 Colonels. They sit atop the Southland Conference after winning their opening game against McNeese State.

Winning at Kyle Field will prove to be an incredibly more difficult task for Nicholls State. This week Kevin Sumlin’s team is going to be judged by the final score board, but it won’t be the biggest barometer of program stability. Rather that estimate will be judged through “style points”, highlight reel plays and a defensive dominance that lasts all four quarters.

The margin for error is crumbling rather quickly, but luckily for Sumlin and the Aggies it’s a gimme game up next and not the Alabama Crimson Tide. Here are five bold predictions for Texas A&M’s Week 2 game against the Colonels of Nicholls State.
