Texas A&M Football: 5 bold predictions vs. Nicholls State
5. Three Aggie running backs score two touchdowns each
Trayveon Williams and Keith Ford would be the talk of the nation right now if the second half against UCLA had gone according to plan. Entering Week 2, Williams has the second most rushing yards among all running backs in the nation. He churned out 203 yards on the ground and two scores against what ended up looking like a decent UCLA defense.
Keith Ford was no slouch either. The veteran Oklahoma transfer is tied for fifth in the country with three rushing touchdowns. Both figure to have an increased role in this coming game against Nicholls State as the Aggies work to break in a new starting quarterback.
Also seeing work last week was redshirt sophomore running back Kendall Bussey. He came in later in the contest after Keith Ford got nicked up. Expect the two big names to carry the load and put up their numbers in two or three quarters of action. The last portion of the game will belong to guys like Bussey and Kwame Etwi.
Texas A&M was on pace to rush for 500 yards last weekend. If the passing game is going to be a work in progress, and that looks like it will be the case, don’t be shocked to see the running game pick up all the slack.
