Washington State football defeated Montana State by a score of 31-0 in Week 1. Here are three bold predictions for their Week 2 game against Boise State.

In Week 1 of the college football season, Mike Leach’s Washington State Cougars team came out swinging in search of their first conference title since 2002. Facing Montana State out of the Big Sky Conference, the Cougars put up 31 points and 511 total yards.

And as the team enters week two of the season, they will be facing off against a different kind of opponent in the Boise State Broncos. Unlike Montana State, Boise State has built a successful Mountain West program around a power running scheme that tires out opposing defenses and dominates at the line of scrimmage.

While diametrically opposed to Washington State’s quick-strike, Air Raid offense, they do bring a unique challenge that Washington State hasn’t faced since their 2016 Holiday Bowl appearance last December, where they lost a squeaker to a hard-nosed Minnesota Gophers squad by a score of 17-12.

If Luke Falk and company want to make a serious push for the Pac-12 North division title this season, they will need to make a serious statement against the Boise State Broncos and show that they belong in the conversation with the likes of conference heavyweights Washington and Stanford.

With that in mind here are three bold predictions for the Washington Cougars week two game against Boise State.
