Kansas State football has a comfortable early lead against the Charlotte 49ers, but it’s the 49ers that own the SportsCenter Top 10 play.

Charlotte isn’t exactly a college football powerhouse. That much was evident when the Wildcats jumped out to an early 21-0 nothing lead in Manhattan on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats marched up and down the field with relative ease, extending their two score lead to three scores with a pick-six.

Then, after a long kickoff return that gave the 49ers the ball at the Kansas State 19 yard line, Charlotte made a play. It was only one score, and it’s likely not going to be the difference maker it what could be another blowout, but still, it was phenomenal.

Hasaan Klugh took the ball and ran 19 yards, straight to the corner pylon of the endzone where he was met by a Kansas State defender. The defender dove to stop him, but Klugh went up and over adding a flip for good measure

The touchdown was just the second touchdown for the 49ers this season. They were defeated in their season opener 24-7 last weekend by Eastern Washington. It’s going to be an uphill battle for Charlotte to stay in this game. ESPN FPI gave them less than a two percent chance of winning at opening kickoff.

Kansas State opened their season with a 55-19 victory over Central Arkansas. It looks like Bill Snyder’s team is ready to start conference play.

The Wildcats are expected to be in the mix for a Big 12 Title, but will have to go through two high-powered offenses to do it. Oklahoma State’s Mason Rudolph broke the school’s all-time passing record on Friday night. Baker Mayfield has a rematch against Ohio State on Saturday evening.
