Texas A&M football’s nightmare season continued into Week 2 when the Aggies received a scare from FCS Nicholls State at Kyle Field.
Any notion that the worst was behind this Texas A&M football team was put away on Saturday night. The Aggies jumped out to an early lead, just as they should against an FCS team. But slowly the offense began to disappear and the Nicholls State Colonels began to march down the field. Midway through the fourth quarter the score was tied at 14.
Thankfully for Kevin Sumlin and the Aggie faithful, the team found a way to pull out the victory at home. Even with the win, though, some serious flaws that were exposed by UCLA were proven to still be a problem against the Colonels.

Texas A&M has one more “cupcake” game against Louisiana-Lafayette before the SEC slate starts on Sep. 23 against Arkansas. Three more SEC games stand between the Aggies and a bye week. The Aggies host South Carolina and Alabama before traveling to Gainesville to play Florida. Then comes that bye week.
If the narrative doesn’t change quickly things are going to get worse before they get better for the maroon and white. The Aggies won on Saturday, but it sure didn’t look all that impressive.
