Nebraska’s return trip to Autzen Stadium didn’t end favorably as Oregon football came out with a victory despite a comeback effort.

On Saturday, the Nebraska Cornhuskers traveled to Autzen Stadium to face the Oregon Ducks. Nebraska had a rather suspect showing against Arkansas State, edging the Red Wolves 43-36 holding onto the win on a last-second incompletion.

On the other hand, Oregon had an FCS team come into beautiful Eugene the week prior and stomped Southern Utah 77-21. The Huskers came in ranked 34th in the S&P+ while Oregon was ranked 30th.

The Ducks came out on fire, scoring 21 points in each of the first two quarters and holding a 42-14 halftime lead. But Nebraska roared back and the Blackshirts shut the Ducks out in the 2nd half. Jim Leavitt couldn’t repair a horrid Ducks defense overnight but they did force four Tanner Lee interceptions while giving up 35 points. Oregon put up 566 total yards and 42 points against the Nebraska defense.

Royce Freeman and Tre Bryant both had great games on the ground. The Ducks’ long-time rushing leader ran for 153 yards and two touchdowns while Bryant rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown before going down with an injury. Oregon is 2-0 heading into a matchup with Wyoming while Nebraska is 1-1 and heading into Northern Illinois.

Now, time for the overreactions.
