5. David Williams is the best Razorback rusher

Few thought that a transfer running back would be the best in what is normally a deep stable for the Razorbacks. The retirement of Rawleigh Williams III in combination with little production from Whaley and Hayden puts Williams in as the leading rusher.

Williams is not only effective in the run game but he’s also good catching the ball. He did not catch a pass against TCU, but showed in Week 1 what he can do. Having a versatile running back like Williams available presents a lot of value to any offensive scheme.

Arkansas does need to find a running back for the future since Williams is a senior. Chase Hayden or Devwah Whaley could be the answer. However, neither had consistently good production throughout the first two weeks.

We’ll see which running back establishes themselves as the clear best option to receive the bulk of the carries. For now, it’s Williams stepping up and filling that role. Whaley was expected to fill that role this year.
