5. Jarrett Stidham is not the answer

Baylor transfer quarterback Jarrett Stidham is the biggest reason why Auburn has received a good amount of hype this year. Stidham was great in limited action with Baylor back in 2015, during his freshman season.

In Week 1 against Georgia Southern, Stidham actually played well and just looked to need some refinement. However, he did not play well at all against Clemson. Officially on the stat sheet, Stidham finished with minus-42 rushing yards.

While Stidham’s rushing stats were absolutely terrible, his passing stats were not much better. He threw for 79 yards on 24 passing attempts. The only real positive was that he completed more than half of his passes.

A lot of Stidham’s struggles were due to a great Clemson pass rush. The Auburn offensive line did not hold up facing Clemson’s talented defensive line. Clemson totaled 11 sacks on the day which signifies a large problem in the Auburn offense.
