1. TCU could be a serious contender this season

I’ve said it before and I will say it again, defense wins championships. Having a strong offense is great, putting up 40 plus points a game is fun.

However, it’s a strong defense that wins championships. The Frogs have a strong, noteworthy defense. That much is obvious so far this season. That, coupled with a strong enough showing by their offense namely Kenny Hill- could spell a strong season for TCU.

Now, there are no guarantees in football. This could change in an instant, one bad loss, one bad day could end national title hopes for the Horned Frogs. But as things stand right now, it’s TCU and Oklahoma that stand out for me in the Big 12 as contenders for a title.

The Big 12 could really use a team in the College Football Playoff that won’t lay an egg once they get there, someone to basically return the conference to national prominence. Could it be TCU? They have the strength, talent and physicality to do it. One can only hope for good things to come for the rest of the season for Kenny Hill and the Horned Frogs.
