Big 12 Football 2017: 5 teams on upset alert in Week 3
For the second consecutive year, the Oklahoma State Cowboys take on the Pittsburgh Panthers. Last year, the Pokes barely edged Pitt by a seven-point margin in a rain-delayed contest. This year, Pitt does not look like the same team they were one year ago.
The departures of quarterback Nathan Peterman and running back James Conner took a toll on the offense. Pitt was not able to give any sort of challenge to the Penn State Nittany Lions last week. They face another top 10 team once again.
While Oklahoma State is largely the same team, if not better, than they were when they faced Pitt last year, the Panthers do not have the same talent level. Former USC transfer quarterback Max Browne is very turnover prone even in the Pitt offense.
With a real chance to launch themselves into the top-seven of the AP Poll, Oklahoma State should be motivated to take care of business on the road. Yet, this is the toughest test that the Pokes have in the non-conference slate.
