Michigan football gets back to Week 3 action against the Air Force Falcons. Here’s what you need to know for the game.

Seventh-ranked Michigan Wolverines football is heavily favored once against as they face Air Force and their Triple Option attack.

The Wolverines are 2-0 entering the matchup after a 36-14 defeat of the Cincinnati Bearcats last week. The offense looked sluggish but the defense did not.

The Michigan defense scored two touchdowns off interceptions and recorded a safety to outscore the Bearcats team themselves.  Safety Tyree Kinnel had a 28-yard interception return for a touchdown in the first quarter. Cornerback Lavert Hill had a 24-yard interception return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Michigan football saw their offense put up 414 total yards of offense but only 16 first downs in the game. Quarterback Wilton Speight had 221 passing yards and two passing touchdowns to lead the offense.

The Air Force Falcons were off last week and are 1-0 entering the contest. They shutout the VMI Cadets, an FCS squad, 62-0 in Week One behind 457 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns on offense.

Seven different players scored in their first game of the 2017 season. They may not be so lucky against Michigan football and their gritty defense, though. The Wolverines have allowed 15.5 points through two games so far.

Here’s how you can watch Saturday’s Michigan vs. Air Force game:

Keys to victory

Michigan Football was able to get over 100 rushing yards out of running back Ty Isaac once again last week. Isaac has 247 rushing yards on 8.0 yards per carry so far through two victories. He’s still yet to find the endzone but should in this one, making for an easy victory.

Prediction

The Air Force Falcons last met Michigan football back in 2012, when they played a close one that the Wolverines won (31-25). This year’s matchup should be a good test for their run defense but they should prevail here.

The Big Ten seems like it’s a wide open race after Ohio State football fell last week, giving teams a potential blueprint on how to beat the Buckeyes. Look for Michigan football to ignite their offense this week before conference play begins.

Final Score: Michigan 42, Air Force 13
