1. Jake Hubenak should just be the starter anyway

The Aggies best option for a starting quarterback is Jake Hubenak. He’s given them a serviceable backup they can rely on the past two years. In 2015, he finished the season with three passing touchdowns in one interception.

Hubenak had the same sort of efficiency last year when he tossed six touchdowns and only two interceptions. He can be an effective game manager for this Aggie offense while the rushing attack takes over.

There’s also the fact that he at least knows how to get the ball to Christian Kirk. Hubenak knows who the most skilled players are around him and how to get them the ball in any means possible. Kellen Mond could learn from that while Hubenak starts for one more year.

It would be of great value to this Texas A&M offense to let Hubenak start for one more year and let Starkel and Mond learn behind him. Then, next year the Aggies can figure out who their quarterback of the future should be between their two freshmen.
