2. The running game will go for over 200 rushing yards

Piggybacking on the previous bold prediction, this next prediction is another huge step in the right direction for the Virginia Tech Hokies’ offense.

The running game hasn’t been the greatest thing to talk about since head coach Justin Fuente‘s arrival and with good reason. The offensive line was inexperienced, undersized and lacked depth upon his arrival. He’s done well with what he’s been given to turn it into a respectable unit and they’re bound to block better this week.

Virginia Tech football has had its fair share of star running backs in the past and they’ve got two more in Travon McMillian and Deshawn McClease. They just need to get them in space.

The Hokies offensive line is breaking in some new starters on the right side but the left side returns guys with experience. They just need to show it’s there and they will this week against East Carolina.

Virginia Tech football has seen the passing game improve but the running has taken a hit as a result, not counting what the quarterback does.

McClease and McMillian can each go over 100 rushing yards this week against East Carolina. The potential is there. McClease has 11 carries for 58 rushing yards (5.3 yards per carry) this season.
