2. Denzel Mims racks up 100 receiving yards and a touchdown

Wide receiver Denzel Mims is the leading receiver for Baylor this year. He’s racked up more than 150 receiving yards and two touchdowns already. Mims has really been the lone bright spot on this Baylor offense.

Both Mims and Chris Platt are the primary targets for Smith to work with. The departures of receivers like K.D. Cannon and Ish Zamora put the Baylor pass-catchers in a tough spot. The depth is limited in the receiving corps.

Mims actually caught the only touchdown that Baylor got in Week 2. Most of the attention from the Duke defense should fall on him. However, that was largely the case for UTSA, and he still found some room to work.

At 6-foot-3 200 pounds, Mims is a huge target that Smith will be able to look to in the red zone. Smith will need to get comfortable and Rhule will let him find his best weapons to ease into the offense. Mims could see a lot of targets early in the game. He’ll also get another touchdowns this week.
