While Saquon Barkley is likely to be chosen as the top running back, barring some sort of injury or serious decline in production, LSU has another running back in the fold who could end up as a top-10 pick.

Just last cycle, Leonard Fournette became one of the best overall prospects and was chosen No. 4 overall in the 2017 NFL Draft by Jacksonville. He had an impressive debut, showing that he wasn’t a reach as a top-five pick and proving that his injury issues wouldn’t hold him back.

Enter, Derrius Guice. Some have called Guice a more complete runner than Fournette and an even better running back prospect than his predecessor. While filling in for an injured Fournette in 2016 as just a sophomore, Guice accounted for 1,387 yards and 15 touchdowns on 7.6 yards per touch.

Fournette has even said that he believes Guice can be the No. 1 overall pick in 2018, although that’s not likely. The 5-foot-11, 212-pound running back is a bruiser who doesn’t go down easily on first contact. Philadelphia’s backfield might be a bit crowded with LeGarrette Blount, Darren Sproles, Wendell Smallwood, Donnel Pumphrey and Corey Clement, but Guice would start over all five.
