The Tennessee football seemingly have the best quarterback on the roster starting behind center with junior Quinten Dormady.

The No. 23 ranked Tennessee Volunteers could finally win the SEC East under head coach Butch Jones for the first time this year. Junior quarterback and first-year starter Quinten Dormady gives the Vols another dynamic to the offense.

Tennessee fans were already comparing Dormady to Peyton Manning after just one start. However, Dormady does face his toughest test of the season so far when the Vols travel to Gainesville to face the No. 24 Florida Gators.

While Tennessee largely has their quarterback situation figured out, the Gators do not. Head coach Jim McElwain the Gators are still tooling around with a 3-quarterback system between freshman Feleipe Franks, former Oregon State transfer Luke del Rio and former Notre Dame transfer Malik Zaire.

Dormady battled true freshman and former four-star recruit Jarrett Guarantano for the starting job this year. Dormady was the favorite for most of the offseason, but Guarantano could be the quarterback of the future. For now, Dormady was the more experienced option.

Two years to learn under Dormady followed by two seasons of starting after Dormady’s departure would be ideal for Guarantano and Tennessee. Yet, you would have to think that Dormady’s leash is still somewhat short with Jones. If he does not perform against Florida this weekend, they might give Guarantano a look.

Now, let’s take a look at three reasons Quinten Dormady is the right answer for the Tennessee Volunteers this year.
