Baylor Football: 5 reasons the Bears will beat Duke in Week 3
5. Daniel Jones doesn’t stay hot for two weeks in a row
Sophomore quarterback Daniel Jones looks to be having himself quite the breakout season so far. He was one of the lesser-known names among ACC quarterbacks entering the season. Most of that was due to low expectations from the entire Duke team.
However, his seven total touchdowns so far have led Duke to put up nearly 100 points in only two games. Putting up points against NC Central did not signify much. It will be tough for Jones to help the Blue Devil offense put up around 50 points.
The main focus of the Baylor defense will be stopping the air attack. If they can do that, Baylor will be well off to put the game in the hands of their offense. The secondary has been inconsistent, at best, so far this year.
UTSA quarterback Dalton Sturm completely outplayed Anu Solomon last week when he threw for more than 150 yards and two touchdowns and no interceptions. Baylor’s defense knows what they have to do to notch their first win of the season.
