2. Brandon Wimbush records 350 yards from scrimmage

This week may very well prove to be one of the determining factors for the direction of the rest of Brandon Wimbush’s season. After a rough performance last week against Georgia, Wimbush’s resiliency will be tested coming into a Week 3 contest against Boston College.

The junior will take on a team that has played the Irish relatively well over the last few years, making this anything other than a cake walk. However, if Wimbush proves himself capable of putting the past behind him, he should be able to take advantage of a fairly suspect defense.

Boston College, far removed from their 2015 defense that finished fourth in opponent points per game, has struggled mightily against their competition since then. Just last week they let up 34 points to a Wake Forest offense that finished far outside the top 100 in points per game last season.

The Eagles have also been very generous to opposing quarterbacks both through the air and on the ground, with quarterbacks Ryan Graham of Northern Illinois (190 yds passing, 99 yds rushing) and John Wolford of Wake Forest (151 yds passing, 92 yds rushing) gashing the defense left and right.

Should Wimbush prove to his coaches that he is capable of rebounding from a heartbreaking loss, it will likely be on the back of a solid overall performance. Wimbush has what it takes to beat defenses with his arms and his legs, and should do just fine when he takes the field come Saturday.
