To get back on track, Notre Dame football could use a dominant win over the Boston College Eagles on the road in Week 3.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish were bounced from the AP Top 25 Rankings just one week after they were included in them for the first time in quite a while. This week, they face the Boston College Eagles, a team that was not competitive with the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in their ACC opener.

BC needs a solid response after a rough start to ACC play after they had an impressive win over the Northern Illinois Huskies in the season opener. The fact that they land Notre Dame at home at Alumni Stadium should help.

Since their heartbreaking one-point loss to the Georgia Bulldogs, head coach Brian Kelly should have the Irish prepared. To avoid getting into a slump like they did during their four-win season one year ago, Notre Dame needs to take care of these type of matchups.

Both defense held strong during the Georgia-Notre Dame game. Irish quarterback Brandon Wimbush and Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm had trouble finding any sort of consistency. Fromm was held to under 150 passing yards and one touchdown with one interception also. Wimbush threw for just over 200 yards and rushed for one touchdown.

If the Notre Dame defense can play to that level this week against a solid BC rushing attack led by Jon Hilliman. They did a great job against one of the best ground games in the country from Sony Michel and Nick Chubb with the Dawgs.

Now, let’s take a look at five reasons the Notre Dame Fighting Irish will beat the Boston College Eagles in Week 3.
