Oklahoma State Football vs. Pittsburgh: 3 bold predictions
One of the biggest matchups in the Big 12 this week is Oklahoma State football vs. Pitt in a rematch from last year’s entertaining contest in Stillwater.
The No. 9 ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys hit the road for the second consecutive week to face the Pittsburgh Panthers. It’s the final non-conference game for both Oklahoma State and Pitt before they enter conference play.
Oklahoma State is a heavy favorite, by nearly two touchdowns. That’s somewhat surprising since Pitt hung tough with the Pokes last year on the road and they get Oklahoma State at home this time around.
Part of the reason for that is the struggling USC transfer quarterback Max Browne, who had a rough going against the Penn State Nittany Lions in Week 2. Browne tossed two picks and zero touchdowns in a 19-point loss last week. Penn State completely dominated the pace of play and never really let Pitt have a chance at competing.
Meanwhile, Oklahoma State defeated the South Alabama Jaguars in a 44-7 beat down at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile. Senior quarterback Mason Rudolph threw for more than 300 yards and three touchdowns for the second consecutive week. Wide receiver James Washington is off to a hot start as well.
Oklahoma State needs to shut down the Pitt rushing attack that racked up nearly 300 yards and three touchdowns on them one year ago. Quadree Henderson had his way with the Cowboy defense last year as he totaled more than 100 yards and two touchdowns.
Now, let’s take a look at three bold predictions for Oklahoma State vs. Pitt in Week 3.
