The Ole Miss football program can their through their non-conference slate without a single loss if they take care of business against Cal.

The last game that the Ole Miss football program has on tap before they enter SEC play is when they face the California Golden Bears this weekend. Both teams are undefeated entering this matchup and each offense possesses an electric passing attack.

The Ole Miss Rebels have a quarterback in sophomore Shea Patterson that has lit up both defenses he’s played against. Patterson totaled 918 passing yards and nine touchdowns, with only one interception through two games.

Meanwhile, Cal quarterback Ross Bowers had a solid first two games, too, with 563 passing yards and four touchdowns, with two interceptions. Cal has not shown the same ability in the passing game that Ole Miss has.

In Week 1, Cal defeated the North Carolina Tar Heels, at Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill. It was one of the more impressive road victories of any Pac-12 team so far. This week, Cal hosts Ole Miss in their second consecutive home game.

Ole Miss took down the South Alabama Jaguars in their season opener and FCS program UT-Martin last week. Each game saw Patterson toss at least four touchdowns. Both games also saw the Ole Miss offense put up at least 45 points. Even with their bowl ban this year, Ole Miss could still be a challenge for many teams in the SEC West.

This is the third consecutive week that the Rebels are favored. Ole Miss is a four-point favorite on the road. However, this game could fall either way.

Now, let’s take a look at three bold predictions for the Ole Miss Rebels against the Cal Golden Bears in Week 3.
