SEC football saw itself take just three losses in Week 2, but Week 3 is where things get exciting.

The SEC football upset alert meter should get a lot of love this weekend. Last week saw three SEC teams take losses, but this week, as out-of-conference games get tougher and conference play begins, Week Three should be more conducive to how the season will go.

The Texas A&M Aggies survived the biggest scare last week by defeating Nicholls State 24-14. The Aggies led by 14 points after the first quarter but their opponent slowly crawled back into it to tie the game at the beginning of the fourth quarter.

Texas A&M (1-1) would go on to get win number one of the season.

Another surprise, but in the positive direction, continues to be the South Carolina Gamecocks. They’re still not ranked, but they’re 2-0 and 1-0 in SEC football play after a big 31-13 victory at Missouri last week.

The biggest disappointment continues to be the Arkansas Razorbacks. They were denied their upset bid last week in ugly fashion. The Razorbacks fell to 20th-ranked TCU, 28-7.

SEC football has more clashes in-conference this week, with one contest having huge implications in the SEC’s East division. Here’s a look at five teams in the SEC that should be on upset alert this week.
