Baylor Football: Bears fall to 0-3 after losing to Duke on the road

2. Duke is better than we thought, but their record is deceiving

Let’s get one thing straight right away: Duke’s 3-0 start is really incredible. I’m not sure there’s a single pundit in the nation that pegged the Blue Devils at 3-0 to start this season, let alone getting past Northwestern and Baylor by a combined 38 points.

That said, no one expected Northwestern and Baylor to be as poor as they are. We’ve yet to see Duke play an opponent with a pulse, and as such it might be premature to start looking up potential bowl destination if you’re a Blue Devils fan. This next weekend’s game against rival UNC should tell us a lot more about this team.

Still, there’s plenty to like here. Quarterback Daniel Jones was held in check for the first time all season against the Bears, but the Duke running game stepped up in his place– senior Shaun Wilson dashed for 176 yards on just 18 carries. This is undoubtedly a fun offense.
