Guest pickers have been a traditional part of ESPN’s College GameDay for a long while. Who has the honor of being the Week 3 guest picker?

Three weeks into the young college football season we’re already on our fourth edition of College GameDay. Week 1 included a double feature with a Thursday night setup at Indiana and the typical Saturday event in Atlanta for the matchup between Alabama and Florida State. The Week 2 show was the first of the year on a college campus. It was hosted by the Ohio State Buckeyes, who fell to Oklahoma in a one-sided affair.

We’ve had two guest pickers so far and seen two very different results with their selections. Former collegiate quarterback and current country music singer Sam Hunt correctly picked eight of nine games in Week 1. Eddie George, the Week 2 gust picker, followed that up with a less-than-stellar performance. The former NFL running back correctly picked six of ten games.

The Week 3 guest picker will be Rick Pitino. One of the most successful basketball coaches in the country, Pitino will try his hand at football picks on Saturday. He’s a genius on the hardwood, but we’ll see how much he knows about the gridiron.

Week 3 features less top-25 matchups than Week 1 and Week 2, but that might actually make it tougher to pick. Outside of No. 3 Clemson at No. 14 Louisville there are a few other games that the crew might include in their picks this Saturday. Texas at No. 4 USC, No. 18 Kansas State at Vanderbilt and No. 19 Stanford at San Diego State all should be close contests.
