After Michigan football defeated Air Force, the Wolverines must now prepare for a Week 4 game at Purdue. Here are three things we learned in Week 3.

After plowing through their first two opponents with ease, the Michigan Wolverines survived one of the strangest games of the season to remain undefeated in 2017.

Facing off against 11th-year head coach Troy Calhoun’s Air Force Falcons squad, and their quirky triple-option rushing attack, the Wolverines were able to out gain the Falcons offense 359-232, and marched out of there out-of-conference schedule unscathed.

But even in victory, the Wolverine’ Week 3 performance may have left quite a few unanswered questions for head coach Jim Harbaugh and his team.

Much like in Michigan’s first two games of the season, the team’s passing attack was incredibly inconsistent, with starting quarterback Wilton Speigth only completing 14-of-23 passes for 169 yards and no touchdowns against an Air Force secondary that hasn’t yet faced off against a formidable aerial assault this season

While Michigan’s defense did hold the Falcon’s triple option attack to only 232 total offensive yards and an offensive touchdown, Michigan didn’t look like world-beaters they’ve been labeled thus far in 2017, and their position in the AP Top 25 will surely reflect that following college football’s third week.

As coach Harbaugh’s Michigan Wolverines now set their sights on their Big Ten schedule, here are three observations from the team’s Week 3 victory over Air Force.
