Michigan football only leads 9-6 at halftime over the Air Force Falcons, and it’s been fairly evenly matched.

The seventh-ranked Michigan Wolverines are getting all they can handle this week at home against the Air Force Falcons. They have been unable to score a touchdown against Air Force, settling for three field goals and a 9-6 lead at halftime.

The Falcons have run all over the Michigan football team with the Triple Option and the Wolverines simply cannot stop them. They have 91 total yards in the game, all from the rush. Air Force has zero passing yards in the game.

Despite being 0-of-5 on third down conversions, the Falcons have still found a way to hang around. Quarterback Arion Worthmann had a big 34-yard run in the second quarter to tie the game up at 6-6 shortly before halftime.

The Wolverines offense has seen a few bright spots. Quarterback Wilton Speight is 7-for-12 with 105 passing yards and no turnovers. Wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones has a catch for 37 yards. The Air Force defense is doing their best to limit big plays by the Michigan offense.

One of the biggest struggles for the Michigan football is getting push up front on the run. Running back Ty Isaac does have nine carries for 61 rushing yards, but Michigan is currently being outrushed as a team by the Falcons.

Running back Chris Evans also fumbled the ball on the team’s second drive of the game.

The Wolverines have eight first downs and are 7-of-12 on third down conversions. They haven’t made a lot of mistakes, but they’ll need to wake up their offense or the Falcons could pull off the upset.

Kicker Quinn Nordin is having a productive day nonetheless as he’s currently 3-for-3 on field goals in the game. He’s made a field goal from 35, 26 and 49 yards to keep the Michigan Wolverines on top.
