3. Steve Addazio’s seat continues to get warmer

The Boston College Golden Eagles are at an impasse with head coach Steve Addazio. It is Addazio’s fifth season as head coach and he currently boasts a 25-29 record, so far. The Golden Eagles are currently 1-2, losing their last two games at home. They lost their ACC opener to Wake Forest last week, 34-10. This week, they suffered another embarrassing loss.

Their defense allowed over 500 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns and looked unprepared to face the Fighting Irish’ running attack all game. The offense continues to be an eye-sore as well as quarterback Anthony Brown threw two interceptions and running back Jon Hilliman fumbled once. BC has five turnovers so far on offense through three weeks.

The Golden Eagles ranked 117th in the FBS in points per game (16.5) entering Week 3. It showed against Notre Dame in the second half. The team did their best to stick around in the first half but it got ugly in a hurry after that.

It hasn’t looked pretty for Steve Addazio although he’s managed to qualify for a bowl game in three out of five seasons. If he doesn’t turn things around quickly here, he could find himself without a job when the New Year arrives.
