After a nice pull-away win for Notre Dame football against Boston College Saturday afternoon, but Josh Adams stole the show.

When Boston College was putting the pressure on Brandon Wimbush Saturday afternoon, it was Josh Adams who took the load off the first-year starter’s shoulders. The star running back was on fire all afternoon and helped the Fighting Irish secure the win.

Notre Dame was up just 14-10 and it looked as beatable as ever, especially after a tough loss to Georgia a week ago, however a strong rushing attack from Adams, and even Wimbush, put the game away in favor of the Irish, 49-20.

Adams finished the game with 229 yards on 18 carries, averaging 12.7 yards per carry. His performance went a bit under the radar because Wimbush had rushed for over 200 yards, but it shouldn’t be overlooked.

When you look at Adams’ 2017 body of work, it’s more impressive than just a one-game outburst. In fact, he put up 214 yards and two touchdowns on 5.6 yards per carry through Notre Dame’s first two games. And if it weren’t for his production and setting up good field position for the Irish on Saturday, Boston College might have pulled off an upset.

Why doesn’t anyone talk about Adams? We always hear about Saquon Barkley, Derrius Guice, Nick Chubb, Bo Scarbrough and Royce Freeman, but Adams is the most underrated out there.

Notre Dame had a nice bounce-back win after a back-breaking loss against Georgia at home last week and it’ll be interesting to see if the Irish can keep it going against Michigan State in East Lansing this week. Adams will have his hands full.
