Ohio State Football: 3 takeaways from Buckeyes’ victory over Army
Ohio State football got back in the win column with a 38-7 victory over the Army Black Knights. Here’s what we learned.
The Ohio State Buckeyes had a bit of a sluggish start in the first half against the Army Black Knights. It looked like it’d be another close game for them with the score 17-7 at halftime, but they asserted themselves in the second half and pulled away with relative ease.
The Army Black Knights went on a 99-yard drive to score their lone touchdown of the game. However, after that, it was all Ohio State from there.
The Buckeyes offense began the first quarter fast. They scored 14 points off 27 plays for 204 total yards of offense. However, things slowed down for them in the second quarter. They had just 11 plays for 69 yards and three points to show for it.
The second half told a different story, though, as true freshman running back J.K. Dobbins scored a rushing touchdown on the second play of the third quarter. After that, the Ohio State football team essentially woke up.
The Ohio State defense began to shut down the Black Knights’ Triple Option offense and held them scoreless in the second half.
