The Oklahoma State football team looks ready for the College Football Playoff. That’s the biggest takeaway from a huge victory over the Pittsburgh Panthers.

The Oklahoma State football team didn’t waste any time with the Pittsburgh Panthers this week. They made quick work of the Panthers, winning 59-21 on the road. The Cowboys put up 676 total yards of offense behind another strong performance from quarterback Mason Rudolph. Rudolph has done well to show why he’s going to be a problem in Big 12 play in 2017.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys led 49-14 at halftime, putting up 21 points in the first quarter and 28 points in the second. OSU team led by so much, Rudolph was pulled halfway through the third quarter, well before the game was even close to the last quarter of football.

In a way, we learned two things: 1) The Oklahoma State offense is scary good and 2) The Pittsburgh Panthers aren’t a very good football team. The game even got to a point where fans were offered a free beverage just for staying at the game. Not a bad offer, but it doesn’t help explain the poor performance at home.

Free drink aside, one thing is for sure, the Oklahoma State football team is going to be a problem when they face the Oklahoma Sooners this year. Here are three takeaways from their victory over Pittsburgh.
