Texas A&M football is in trouble. The Aggies knew that. The nation knew that. But now they need to find a way to come from behind against Louisiana at home.

The SEC gets criticized ever year for playing some inferior opponents. They’re called “cupcake” games. Well, Texas A&M is in danger of falling apart against one of those cupcakes today. Things are still off to a rocky start this year for the Aggies under head coach Kevin Sumlin. This week, they trail the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns 21-14 at halftime, and they’re at home.

Quarterback Kellen Mond isn’t having a terrible debut game. He’s thrown for 149 passing yards and two passing touchdowns in his first start, but he’s also thrown an interception. Texas A&M football has five first downs and the Ragin’ Cajuns have 13. While the Aggies have accumulated 127 total yards of offense, Louisiana has 227 total yards of offense.

It seems Texas A&M football hasn’t had much of an answer for the Louisiana offense and it’s showed. The Ragin’ Cajuns put up 21 points in the second quarter alone to take the lead before halftime.

A loss here as an SEC team certainly won’t help Kevin Sumlin’s case to remain as the Texas A&M head coach. His seat has continued to get warmer and warmer after blowing a huge lead to the UCLA Bruins only to lose in the end.

The Aggies defeated Nicholls State 24-14 last week, but they were on upset alert for that game too. Seems like it’s just another week in College Station, we’ll continue to monitor the situation to see if it improves.
