1. Josh Jackson is the best freshman quarterback in the country

Josh Jackson led the Hokies to a huge victory in their season opener over the West Virginia Mountaineers. He had, by far, his best game of the season against ECU. Jackson tossed five touchdowns and 372 yards.

This has not been a big year for freshman quarterbacks. Moreover, it’s hard to find any quarterback that has put up the type of numbers that Jackson has. He could possibly establish himself as a potential Heisman candidate in 2018 if he keeps this up.

Jackson has helped Virginia Tech fans forget about former quarterback Jerod Evans very quick. His nine total touchdowns and dual threat ability give Fuente a whole new dynamic to work with on offense.

While this seems like more of the year of the sophomore quarterback from players like Ole Miss’s Shea Patterson and South Carolina’s Jake Bentley, Jackson is one of the best young quarterbacks on any team in the country.
