Washington State football moved on from a triple overtime victory in Week 2 with a commanding win over the Oregon State Beavers in Week 3.
Coming off massive indecision regarding Luke Falk last weekend, head coach Mike Leach decided to stick with his gunslinger. It paid off. Falk threw six touchdowns in what became a resounding Cougar victory. Now, the Oregon State Beavers look like a program in disarray following the 52-23 loss.
Mike Leach played a “forgive and forget” role with Luke Falk on Saturday. A week after indecision and injury, Luke Falk went 37 of 49 passing for 396 yards and six touchdowns with no interceptions.
This came only a week after barely surviving against Boise State with Tyler Hilinski throwing for 240 yards and three touchdowns after Falk struggled and was knocked out of the game. Falk returned to put away a bad Oregon State team.

The Wazzou Cougars were expecting an improved defense but have given up 67 points over the last two games. Jake Luton struggled again while Ryan Nall did Ryan Nall things rushing for 118 yards at 7.9 yards per rush and two touchdowns. The Cougs came into the contest ranked No. 31 in the S&P+ while the Beavs were ranked No. 75. Oregon State starts 2017 1-3. Gary Andersen’s time has to be numbered in Corvallis.
Washington State moves on to 3-0 and Mike Leach has to prepare his Cougs for 112th ranked (per S&P+) Nevada before the schedule heats up as they host USC, travel to Oregon, then host Colorado and Stanford before traveling to Utah and Washington to end the year. Here are my three takeaways from the Wazzou victory.
