2. Will Grier is going to break some records this year

Maybe he doesn’t end up in New York for the Heisman ceremony. Many he isn’t the first-team All-Big 12 quarterback. But man, Will Grier is playing just as well as any quarterback in the country right now.

In fact, Grier continued his hot start against the Hornets, completing over 70 percent of his passes for 304 yards and three touchdowns. He’s now averaging 342 passing yards per game, and has thrown 11 touchdowns to just two interceptions. He’s been everything Mountaineer fans were hoping he’d be, and more.

Sure, two of the three games have come against, uh, mediocre competition. But he lit up Virginia Tech to the tune of 371 passing yards as well. Grier is the real deal, and having him behind center gives West Virginia a chance in every game on their schedule this season.
