Another week, another loss for the Boston College Golden Eagles. It was close in the early going as the Golden Eagles took a 10-7 lead on an Anthony Brown 22-yard touchdown pass to Charlie Callinan.

However, the Boston College defense just couldn’t stop the Fighting Irish from running the ball. Notre Dame had 218 rushing yards in the first half and finished with 515 rushing yards for the game.

The Golden Eagles defense allowed seven rushing touchdowns, four of them from Notre Dame’s Brandon Wimbush. They need to adjust their defensive gameplan if they hope to turn things around.

Otherwise, the seat for head coach Steve Addazio continues to heat up if things continue to go south.

The Pittsburgh Panthers simply couldn’t keep up with No. 9 Oklahoma State as they fell at home 59-21. The Cowboys jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.

The Panthers defense was no match for quarterback Mason Rudolph, who had 423 passing yards and five passing touchdowns in the first half. They allowed 676 yards of offense (572 passing yards).

It was the second-straight week Pitt fell big to a ranked opponent. The Panthers are in for a long season. If head coach Pat Narduzzi doesn’t turn things around, he could find himself on the hot seat too.

The Syracuse Orange got back in the win column in Week 3 with a 41-17 victory over Central Michigan. Quarterback Eric Dungey led the way with two passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown. He had 279 passing yards and 105 rushing yards on the day.

Safety Evan Foster’s pick-six in the first quarter broke the game open. The Orange outscored the Chippewas 31-7 in the final three quarters.

It was a step in the right direction for the Syracuse football team. Wide receiver Steve Ishmael had eight catches for 139 receiving yards, although he also had a fumble.

The Orange had three turnovers as a unit, something they’ll need to clean up when LSU comes to town next week.

Virginia quarterback Kurt Benkert threw for a school-record 455 passing yards and three passing touchdowns to avenge a 2016 loss to the UConn Huskies.

The Cavaliers got a 38-18 victory with Benkert under center and it was bittersweet as he completed touchdown passes for 42, 30 and 73 yards.

UVA led by as many as 31-0 at one point although they were unable to complete the shutout in the end.

The Cavaliers’ offense put up 626 total yards of offense with three different receivers finishing with over 100 receiving yards. It was their largest offensive output since 2010.
