3. Doubting J.T. Barrett was silly

After two shaky starts to begin the season, J.T. Barrett was receiving plenty of flack from fans and the media. Everyone was calling for his job and claiming that he was holding Ohio State back from potential greatness.

Barrett hadn’t put a full game together all year long as he struggled in the first half against Indiana and for most of the Oklahoma contest. In Week 3, it was a boom or bust type of situation for the senior quarterback as he would be judged harshly no matter what.

However, he put together a solid showing against the Black Knights, completing 25-of-33 passes for 270 yards and two touchdowns. He rushed for another 32 yards and a score and looked like the Barrett of old.

The fans who fell off the bandwagon were quick to jump back on and say that they had never doubted Barrett. Those who had openly doubted him were quick to step back and say it was silly. Either way, Barrett will still need to prove himself against a top-tier opponent.
