2. RB J.K. Dobbins

True freshman J.K. Dobbins had another big day on the ground for the Ohio State Buckeyes. Dobbins has made it very difficult to keep him off the field through three weeks of the season.

He carried the ball 13 times for 172 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. His speed was on full display as he broke out for a 52-yard touchdown to open up the second half.

After that, the Buckeyes offense really got going, putting up 21 points in the second half.

Dobbins averaged 13.2 yards per carry in the game and is currently averaging 7.7 yards per rush on the season. Running back Mike Weber has been healthy, but he had just four carries for 13 rushing yards in this game.

The bigger story has been the emergence of J.K. Dobbins, a back with speed and an elusiveness that goes with it. As the Buckeyes season goes forward, it will be interesting to see how Dobbins is used. They’re still in search of a big play passing threat as well, maybe Weber can fill that void.
