Arkansas had a bye week, nevertheless they fall in our rankings. Mostly because we still don’t know a lot about them. They play Texas A&M this Saturday.

It was a perfect storm of bad events for Ole Miss in their loss to Cal. Best receiver A.J. Brown went out of the game with an injury. Starting center Sean Rawlings went down, starting kicker Gary Wunderlich went down. Linebacker Victor Evans was hurt and so was running back Jordan Wilkins. Needless to say, the Rebels were hampered.

Injuries on the offense showed more than anything as the offensive line was all out of whack. And the Rebels never could get any offense going, going scoreless in the second half. In a strange turn of events, the Ole Miss defense actually did very well. They just didn’t have any help from the offense. The youth of this team and Shea Patterson in particular showed. Better days will be ahead for Ole Miss. As mentioned the defense improved from the first two games so there are positives to take away from this. Ole Miss now heads into a much-needed bye week.
