Virginia Tech football got off to a slow start, but it proved no match for East Carolina in the end. See who this week’s top performers were in Week 3.

The Virginia Tech Hokies were on the ropes early, but what’s a college football game without a bit of drama?

The Hokies outscored the East Carolina Pirates 41-0 in the second half after trailing 17-7 after the first quarter.

Virginia Tech made it interesting early then their offense found a new gear as quarterback Josh Jackson and company outscored East Carolina 64-17 in the victory.

The offensive explosion was good to see from a Hokies’ perspective. They scored on nine straight possessions during one stretch of the game.

It was Virginia Tech’s first victory at East Carolina since a 15-10 victory in 2013. Their 64 points were the most since their 66-13 win over Appalachian State in 2011.

It looks like the beginning of a new era in head coach Justin Fuente’s second season. The defense played their part with defensive coordinator Bud Foster leading the way as well.

Here’s a look at this week helmet stickers for Week 3.
