3. Jared Cornelius ends up leading the Hogs in receiving yards

While Austin Allen has a very important role to play in the offense, so does the receiving corps. The leader of that group of wide receivers is senior Jared Cornelius. Head coach Bret Bielema and the rest of the staff have been cautious with Cornelius so far.

Up to this point, Cornelius has only caught two passes for eight yards. He’s seen extremely limited action this year. However, it has not been too important, beside the TCU game, for Cornelius to see the field yet.

Arkansas’s leading receiver through two games is Jonathan Nance, and it’s not close. Nance has caught six passes for 100 yards and one touchdown. Nearly half of Allen’s passing yards have gone to Nance.

It won’t be hard for a talented receiver like Cornelius to catch up to what Nance has done through the first two weeks. The playmaking ability he brings to this offense is much worth the injury risk that he might still have tied to him after the offseason.
