3. Justin Herbert will throw for 350 yards

I can’t express enough that I think Justin Herbert gets the Ducks back on the map. Marcus Mariota left after his Heisman winning 2014 season and is now a starting quarterback in the NFL for the Titans. Since his departure, the Ducks have been left scrounging the grad transfer wire for someone to lead the program for a year at a time. In comes 6-foot-5 Justin Herbert from Sheldon High right there in Eugene to save the dynasty.

The Sun Devils’ defense gave up 543 passing yards and six touchdowns (with no interceptions) to Red Raiders quarterback Nic Shimonek a week ago. Schimonek is in the air raid system that Kliff Kingsbury learned under Mike Leach so, yes, they’re going to throw the ball, collect yards and score points. But Texas Tech isn’t quite as good on offense as Oregon per the S&P+. I can’t wait to see what Herbert can accomplish, if needed, against Arizona State.

Herbert will spread the ball around the field and rack up yards as Texas Tech has a low time of possession and will give the Ducks a few extra drives than usual to tally yardage.

However, the touchdowns may not match up through the air because the Ducks believe in pounding the rock near the goal line. Herbert will crack 1,000 yards passing and eight touchdowns in Week 4. Easy to say the Ducks’ offense is back and firing on all cylinders.
