ACC Football 2017: 3 teams that will be on upset alert in Week 4
There’s some good ACC football competition this weekend with some of the better teams on upset alert.
The ACC still holds the title as the best conference in college football. Until the No. 2 Clemson Tigers get knocked off, that should continue to stay that way. Since the Florida State Seminoles were downed by the Alabama Crimson Tide, Clemson is the clear favorite to win the conference.
Other big challengers to Clemson for the ACC crown this week include the Miami Hurricanes, Virginia Tech Hokies, and Duke Blue Devils. However, all teams that will challenge Clemson in a big way are in the ACC Coastal division.
Last week, the biggest game of the weekend was Clemson and the Louisville Cardinals. Yet, former Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson and the Cardinals were dominated by Clemson and took a step back when some expected them to take off after Week 3.
Florida State returns to action after two weeks off due to Hurricane Irma. We’ll see what they can do without star sophomore quarterback Deondre Francois behind center. They still have one of the most talented defenses in the country and a young and skilled group of running backs.
Other teams in action this week include the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets taking on the Pitt Panthers. The Virginia Cavaliers take on the Boise State Broncos in the only weekday game for any ACC teams. Two other games to watch include the Syracuse Orange facing the LSU Tigers and Miami returning to action against the Toledo Rockets.
Now, let’s take a look at three ACC football teams on upset alert in Week 4.
