After beating Air Force in Week 3, Michigan football must now prepare for Big Ten opponent Purdue. Here are some bold predictions.

Week 4 provides a huge game for the Michigan Wolverines.

After holding the triple option Air Force Falcons offense to only 13 points, and 64 total passing yards in Week 3, although the Falcons kept it close, Jim Harbaugh’s squad is finally entering its 2017 conference schedule with a trip to West Lafayette, Ind., to face off against Big Ten foe Purdue.

While Michigan has defeated Purdue in eight of the last 10 meetings, this season’s game could be much closer than the games of the past due in part to Purdue’s new head coach Jeff Brohm.

After spending three seasons as the head coach of the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers, Brohm has delivered a new, high-powered offensive philosophy to Purdue that has been missing for some time in West Laffayette, and could provide a new challenge for the Michigan’s young secondary.

If the Wolverines are going to continue their triumphant march toward the College Football Playoff in 2017, it will need to control the time of possession at the line of scrimmage and consistently move the ball through the air without their best receiver, Tarik Black, a facet of its offense that has yet to click for Harbaugh’s squad in 2017.

As Michigan looks ahead to a game against in-state arch-rival Michigan State, the team shouldn’t overlook a deceptively good Purdue squad.

With that in mind, here are three bold predictions for Michigan’s Week 4 bout against the Purdue Boilermakers.
