Oklahoma football is sitting in great position right now to make the College Football Playoff if it can win the Big 12 again in 2017.

The No. 3 Oklahoma Sooners have a chance to move to 4-0 this week and notch their first victory in Big 12 play. Meanwhile, the Baylor Bears are headed in the complete opposite direction as they enter this matchup winless.

OU defeated the Tulane Green Wave by a final score of 56-14 last week. However, Baylor lost to the Duke Blue Devils 34-20 in a closer game than most expected. That could be a good sign for the Bears moving forward.

First-year OU head coach Lincoln Riley is helping Sooner fans to forget about the retirement of Bob Stoops much easier. Riley out-coached one of the best of this generation in Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer just two weeks ago.

The Oklahoma victory over the Ohio State Buckeyes made a bigger statement than any other single victory this year. If the Sooners can continue their winning streak until the Bedlam game with the No. 6 Oklahoma State Cowboys on Nov. 4, then it could be a matchup between two teams ranked in the top 3.

Moreover, Baylor is missing former Arizona transfer quarterback Anu Solomon for the second straight week due to concussion symptoms. Sophomore Zach Smith will get the start for the second straight game. That is probably a good thing considering how Solomon played in the first two games of the year.

Oklahoma is a 27.5-point favorite over Baylor in what should be more of a blowout game. It will be a much different story than Oklahoma-Baylor games in year’s past.

Now, let’s take a look at three bold predictions for the Oklahoma Sooners facing the Baylor Bears in Week 4.
